HE Angus Campbell AO

HE Angus Campbell AO has been accredited as Australian Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization since March 2025.  

 

     

He has previously served as:

  • Chief of the Australian Defence Force (2018-2024);
  • Chief of the Australian Army (2015-2018);
  • Commander Joint Agency Taskforce Operation Sovereign Borders, Department of Home Affairs (2013-2015);
  • Deputy Chief of the Australian Army (2012-2013);
  • Commander Middle East Area of Operations (2011);
  • Head Military Strategic Commitments, ADF HQ (2010);
  • Deputy National Security Adviser, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) (2009-2010); and
  • First Assistant Secretary, Office of National Security, PM&C (2005-2009).

 

Ambassador Campbell holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons), from the University of New South Wales (1985) and a Master of Philosophy in International Relations, from Cambridge University (1993).
